ALEC in Charlotte Observer

For more information on ALEC see page 1, A Section of todays (Tuesday, May 7, 2013) of the Charlotte Observer.  The piece written by John Frank (Raliegh Commentator) is continued elaborately on the Viewpoint Page.  The article shows how ALEC produces legislative  drafts, called “templates” carefully written by former lobyists, and members of congress and other state legislatures, already prepared for introduction to become law.  There is also a sidebar titled “ALEC Fingerprints” showing the main points of ALEC namely, Charter Schools, Anti-Union legislation, State Sovereignty, Asbestos lawsuits (protecting corporations from lawsuits connected with abestos), same for Obesity.
